Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation

Okay so since the age of 15 I have been loyal to my Estee Lauder foundations as my Mum had first introduced me to them and I just stuck with them as they were a lot better than the cheaper brands I'd been using. However, about 2/3 years ago they discontinued their "Individualist" foundation and I was heart broken, to start with I had to go to "Double Wear" but being that my skin is relatively good I didn't need the amount of coverage it gave and just felt cakey all the time. They then brought out Double wear light which doesn't have a range of shades just about 5 or 6 intensities, and being as pale as I am, I was intensity 1. I stuck with it not entirely happy about the colour and how it looked on my skin I always felt like it gave me an almost orange glow.
So, when it ran out a month ago I decided I would give the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation a go as I had heard only good things and thought why not its cheaper and I couldn't be bothered trying to find a higher end foundation just yet. I will say the packaging is good its a nice glass bottle and the coverage it gives is excellent. When your trying to pick a foundation in a high street store it is so difficult the lighting is terrible and you can only swatch on your hand to get an idea of colour and so my colour "true ivory" just seemed to dark for me once I got home. I also would not recommend this for people with even slightly oil prone skin. I get patches of oiliness now and again but this just made it worse my chin looked horrible and patchy and around my nose was all oily. I eventually had to by the Kleenex blotting papers which were somewhat a god send.

All in all I'd give this foundation a 3 out of 5 as it just wasn't right for me, but there are aspects of it which I liked.
