Beauty | The Red Edit

Red is such a classic statement colour, wether it be a red dress, your lips or on your nails, it can appear both classy and get you noticed. Red is on of my favourite colours and I wear it on any ocassion I can but it does get a lot more attention throughout the winter months. With the festive season been and gone its valentine's day soon a day where the colour red is never out of place. So I thought I'd give a run down of my favourite red nail and lip colours! First up is Nails, I love red nails, they are my go to when I just can't decide on a colour or I'm in a rush I actually used to always carry rimmel double decker everywhere with me in case of nail emergencies. All 3 of these are my absolute favourites and first up is Gosh Lambada its a gorgeous true go with anything red and I love it! At 3.99 you cannot go wrong with this little beaut! Next are 2 OPI polishes from the Minnie collection, in I'm All Ears and The Colour of Minnie, not only are the names adorable the colours are gorgeous aswell. I'm all ears leans slightly more fuschia but I still count it as a red!
Also for those who don't like all out red lipticks the Santa Baby lip tint from lush is pretty good at giving a nice natural red stain to the lips!

Next up is lips, now I know many girls are afraid of red lipstick and I will admit until last year I was one of them and now my red lipsticks far outweigh any other beauty product I own! I see a red lipstick and I need it, I've just discovered Gosh have a matching Lambada lipstick and I want it! Being a fair skin tone I thought wearing red lipsticks would wash me out completely but not the case! It's just about understanding what ones suit your skin tone. So for me more Orange reds look best but any one as long as its not an overly dark or blue toned red suits meas well as others.

L'oreal Glam Shine Stain in Juliet -I have previously done a full review of this shade here. I know I've just said blue toned reds don't suit me but I only use this with a tan usually as it is quite dark on. I do love the consistency of the glam shine stains though! They are really good in the summer as they aren't sticky or heavy.

Rimmel Kate Moss 01 - This is definitely a blue toned red it looks almost dark brown in the bullet. Again this is another one I reserve for nights out with a tan! I actually really like the Rimmel Kate Moss range! I reviewed a few here.

Lancome L'Absolu Rouge in Rouge Mythique - Since getting this back in September it has become one of my go to colours! I just find it so wearable it's a lovely true red that isn't overly blue toned, I thimk the fine shimmer particles make it a lot more wearable for me and it smells amazing as well! I always get compliments when I'm wearing this one! A full review of this one is here

Lancome L'absolu Rouge in Caprice - After how much I loved rouge mythique it of course wouldn't be long before I tried out another Lancome goody and this one is a good'un indeed! It's a gorgeous vibrant red that is a lot warmer in tone than the rouge mythique, this one is more of a subtle red on me that is perfect for everyday whereas the rouge mythique is a bit more of a statement colour on my pale skin!

Chanel Rouge Allure in Coromandel - This was the first high end red I purchased and the lady at Chanel was amazing. Coromandel is a warm orange toned red which blends in well with my warm pink undertoned skin, however it still provides that pop you want a red to have. I always always wear this one on occasions and it was actually the one I chose to wear to my graduation you can see that here and a full review here

Wet 'n' Wild Silkfinish in Raunchy Red - This was actually the first red I bought after seeing a youtuber wearing it and thinking it looked amazing on her. I'ts definitely not a true red as its a little more on the pinky side than the any of the others but definitely a good starting colour for anyone a bit afraid of red lips.

Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Monte Carlo - This is definitely a great colour for anyone who doesn't want an in your face red. It's a sheer lipstick that is a strawberry red in colour and it is by far my most used lipstick, its the one I pick up and swipe on when I'm in a rush and chuck in my bag. Full review here

Chanel Rouce Coco Shine in Suspense - This one is not technically a red but its not a pink either, its a sheer fuschia colour with sort of red undertones I like to think of it as sort of a Raspberry red. This is the newest addition to my lipsticks and so far I have been getting a lot of wear out of it!

I am very sorry for how long this post was but I wanted to get a good overview of all the reds you can wear even if you have pale skin and think it won't suit you. If you want me to do more of a how to choose a red lipstick post then let me know and if you managed to read all of this, thanks and well done for sticking with me!
