Event | Snuggle Muffin - #ditchthediet

Last Wednesday was a busy day for me and I ended up attending not one but two blogger events in the same night. The second of these was at Snuggle Muffin where we were encouraged to #ditchthediet for one night. I'll be honest I didn't need much encouragement they had me as soon as I walked in the door and seen all the amazing cupcakes! We arrived a little late and the Wonderful Claire and Sherri handed us some marshmallow champagne cocktails the honestly looked and tasted like milkshake! AMAZING! They gave us a little intro into Snuggle Muffin and introduced us to the wonderful and inspiring Julianne Grasekamp.
Julianne told us all about why she started Snuggle Muffin and what she wants it to be, she started by baking cakes and taking them to school and selling them, by the time she was at university she was making cakes to order whilst living in Halls and delivering cakes via Glasgow's public transport system. Her inspiration for Snuggle Muffin came after she spent a year working in Disney and found there customer friendly and orientated approach inspiring and wanted to create something like that herself! Did I mention that Julianne is only 21 and her 8 staff members are all under that age too, amazing!
The food was not only lovely to look at but it tasted amazing too! There were cupcakes, little tarts, mini cupcakes, smore bites, cookies and strawberries dipped in chocolate. There was also a pancake and waffle bar as Snuggle Muffin does American style breakfasts, I don't know about you but those are my favourite kind of breakfasts. Alongside all the cakey sugary goodness there were also some savouries, in the form of sandwiches. I have to say I really regret not trying these for myself as I have heard the Pastrami was delicious, I suppose its always an excuse to pop back soon!
After all of this it was time for the highly anticipated #scottishloggersbakeoff, icing of the cupcakes was demonstrated by Julianne and the girls and then it was our turn! I went for the marshmallow icing, YUM! and actually think I done a pretty good job with it, if I do say so myself! I topped mine with sugary hearts and edible glitter.
The night was amazing and Julianne and her staff were so nice and friendly, they kept coming over with refills of those amazing milkshake like cocktails! I also loved the decor of the place as well, all of Julianne's family actually pitched in and helped her get the whole thing up and running and the colour scheme is so pretty and all of the art hanging on the walls was hand painted by her Mum. It's full of cosy couches with low or high tables and chairs as well and theres little trees in pink boxes dotted about and at the door as well as a little outdoor seating area which I think would be gorgeous in the summer.
You can pop in to Snuggle Muffin on 120 George Street just along from Queen St and down from Strathclyde Uni!
