Beauty On Trial | Orange Lips Part 2

Orange lips have been going around for a little while now but are set to be a massive trend this SS14 after featuring heavily  on the catwalk makeup looks, but are they wearable and how can we wear them. As someone who is extremely pale I was rather afraid of orange lips. I'm not brave enough to try any of the bright luminous colours but I do have a couple. First up is the Bourjois Shine Edition in 123 soleil. It looks very bright in the bullet but as it is a shine lipstick it applied much more muted and is a nude peachy shade almost. I think its perfect for giving a nod to  the trend without looking washed out.  Next up is the L'oreal Glam Shine Stain in Princess. This is a bright orange that leans a little more red instead of bright neon. Its almost a dark tangerine shade and I think paired with a little bronzer looks great and can see it being a look I wear a lot during the summer.

I also asked on twitter if any of you have been trying out the orange lips trend and First up is Hayley from Diamonds and Daydreams. Hayley is working a nice bright orange and I think she looks fab! she has kept the rest of her makeup quite neutral and used bronzer to warm her face up.Check out her blog and twitter.

Next up is Face Value Beauty, working 2 different oranges. The first is a light creamy apricot that still makes a statement. The next is a gorgeous bright tangerine orange that looks amazing on her. Once again she has kept the rest of her makeup neutral and let her lips make the statement. You can see all the details of these on her blog and check her out on twitter too.

Let me know how your going to be wearing the orange lip trend!

I personally really like an orange lip but worry how it looks on me. I think you pull it off really well.

  8. Love this post. I purchased Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede lipstick in 'Designer' last week. It's a gorgeous red/orange that isn't too extreme for people like me who are wary of this trend!
