Skincare Sunday | La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo [+] Plus Review

La Roche-Posay is a French pharmacy brand that if you have been in the blogging world for any length of time you will more than definitely have heard of. Many people covet a few of their cult products, Effaclar  Duo being one of them. It has been such a popular product amongst bloggers and skincare fanatics alike, I was especially tempted to try it out myself. Then I heard the people over at La Roche-Posay had decided to improve the already cult product to bring even more skin benefits and  La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo [+]* was born.
If like me you haven't tried the original I will give you a run down on what it does, it fights imperfections (spots) to reduce their size and get rid of them faster, clearing your skin and unblocking your pores, by keeping using it it should keep any nasties away. The new improved Effaclar Duo [+] formula has an added ingredient Procerad, that helps to reduce the appearnace of red and dark marks that spots can leave behind on your face, they have also reformulated some other ingredients to make it suitable for even the most sensitive of skin! They make some pretty bold claims and state that tests have shown "after 24 hours imperfections looks visibly less red, after 8 days imperfections are significantly reduced and after 4 weeks pores look unclogged, skin texture looks refined and shine is controlled". So in basic terms it reduces the appearance of spots, helps to get rid of them, helps to reduce the marks the leave behind ehilst at the same time keeping your pores unblocked which in turn keeps oil and shine at bay! It has a sort of serum gel hybrid texture that absorbs straight away, which is good for those wanting to apply moisturizer over it.
This arrived just in time for me as I usually only get hormonal spots but recently I have been getting them more frequently and was going through a pretty bad spell with a few of those horrid under the skin spots. So I put this on day and night and true to form the next day the redness had reduced significantly and they seemed to be getting smaller. Just a few days later I then got a horrible hormonal outbreak which it also helped with. I also had a couple of red marks from previous spots that it has definitely reduced. I've been using this for almost 4 weeks now and can definitely say that once you use it you wont want to stop. I've only just started not using it twice a day everyday but my pores definitely look a lot smaller, they were HUGE. I apply this in the morning and it definitely keeps shine at bay as I would normally get really oily around my nose as the day goes on and now nothing. Actually just last night before writing this post up I noticed a couple of pesky spots under the skin and decided just to pop this on those areas under my nightly mosturizer and when I woke up this morning they were basically gone!
Safe to say I love this product and can really see why it is such a cult skincare favourite for those with oily/breakout prone skin. I would say I don't really fall into this category only getting the occasional breakout but for anyone suffering with this or large blocked pores, give it a go! You won't be disappointed.

Essentual currently have a third off French Pharmacy brands! And you can get Effaclar Duo [+]  for just £10.33 instead of £15.50!
