Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics

I've never been one for jumping on the bandwagon and I only own one other naked palette but something about the Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics made me want it! When the original Naked Basics came out I wasn't that impressed truth be told as I didn't see any need to have it. It was a mix of lights and darks for me and didn't have anything in between I felt.
However this little beaut has a good mix of lighter, in the middle and darker neutrals making it the perfect on the go palette. It's also the perfect size for throwing in your makeup bag, unlike the big sister naked counterparts.
It is mostly cool toned shades, which I personally don't normally go for but I am actually really loving it. Skimp is not totally matte it infact it's described as "demi-matte" and is the perfect highlight shade. Stark is a nude colour that works great over primer as a base. Frisk is great as a base or as a crease colour. Skimp Stark and Frisk are the colours I have been wearing most days.
Cover is a darker copper coloured brown which works great as a crease colour and in the outer corner as well. Primal is a much darker brown one that I would use more at night in the outer corner for a more smokey look. Undone is the darkest colour a sort of light charcoal, this will probably be the one I'd probably use least.
For me the Naked 2 basics beats the original hands down. It is definitely going to be my go to palette for the forseeable future.

The Naked 2 Basics is now available to purchase from Debenhams and the Urban Decay website

  1. Ahh I'm so excited for mine to arrive! The original Basics palette had been on my wishlist for ages but when I saw this it appealed to me so much more. I love the mixture of shades and that it's a lot lighter than the original! The grey shade looks perfect for these winter months too!
