bareMinerals Complexion Rescue*

BareMinerals Complexion Rescue*, is the new kid in bareMinerals foundation/coverage lineup and the best multi-tasker I have ever come across. It is described as a tinted hydrating gel cream and I know you are thinking so a tinted moisturiser then, but no. This is so much more than that. This is a skincare - makeup hybrid and for me it is wiping the floor with anything that has come before it.

Complexion Rescue is formulated differently, they have water on the outside and hydrating humectants (olive derived squalene and marine botanicals) and pigment on the inside. Unlike traditional tinted moisturisers formulated with oil on the outside. This keeps your skin hydrated, the skincare side of it. It contains heart leaf globe daisy (an antioxidant), calcium and magnesium to promote skin balance and moisture and SPF 30 to protect the skin from UV damage.

It also comes in a rather impressive 10 shades, so there is something for everyone and more than any other products of it's kind have as well. I am the lightest Opal and it works so well with my super pale skin tone.

That is the science bit over with and now onto what you are all dying to know. When I first heard this was kind of like a tinted moisturiser I'm not going to lie I thought I was going to hate it. I had pictures of dry, cakey, oily, zero coverage, too dark, in my mind, basically any experience I've previously had with products falling into this category (that includes BB and CC creams).
However this takes all the things I really wanted to be able to love about BB and CC creams and tinted moisturisers and actually makes them wearable.

It has a gel like formula meaning it is really easy to apply effortlessly to the skin using your fingers or a brush. I prefer a brush as it lets you buff it in to the skin more. It dries really quickly meaning it is so easy to apply another layer to gain the coverage you want. It is super glowy, like perfect spring/summer dewy skin glowy. It seems to blur out imperfections and makes your skin look instantly more awake. I was really pleasantly surprised about how much I loved this and how good the coverage actually was.

I have wore this on a fair few occasions now and each time it has seriously impressed me. It always gives me that amazing dewiness and really good coverage. I have some redness around my nose so I like to use a base that covers this and I apply an extra layer here to mask it and it does the job well. The staying power is impressive too, as it lasts me all day at work (the last thing I want to do is have to touch up my makeup half way through the day). It does not turn oily on my forehead, nose or chin area throughout the day either. One thing I find really impressive is that it feels like you have nothing on your skin at all as it is so comfortable.
I think bareMinerals have achieved the perfect no makeup makeup base with Complexion Rescue, this one will be staying in my makeup bag and will definitely be a staple during the warmer months.

bareMinerals Complexion Rescue is £26 and is currently available to buy in Debenhams and bareMinerals online.
